In a leadership development training workshop at Delhi 2014, a participant asked me, “Sir, motivation is something which comes from within. How to make it easy to stay motivated for a long time. My motivation may last for a day, for a week or say, for a month, but for long term goals I need to stay motivated for a long time. How to make it possible?”
I realized that the question is pretty genuine. All of us go through the same thing.
I said, “Have you ever tried to know that why a cow gives us milk?” It is not ‘we’ who the milk is intended for, but ‘the calf’ to whom the cow wishes to feed.
Excessive production of milk, in this case, won’t harm the health of a cow. The purpose remains strong, even if the action doesn’t fulfill the purpose each time.
The ‘what’ and ‘how’ factor is not as important as ‘why’, and that is the winning edge!
The ‘why’ factor gets you motivated to work with a motto.
Think Well, Stay happy!
